...used to recite the Qur`an in the Zuhr and the `Asr prayers. He replied in the affirmative. We said, "How did you come to know that?" He said, "From the movement of his beard."

Abu Ma`mar (radiyallahu tala ‘anhu) narrates that: I asked Khabbab whether the Prophet (sallalahu tala ‘alahi wasalam) used to recite the Qur`an in the Zuhr and the `Asr prayers. He replied in the affirmative. We said, “How did you come to know that?” He said, “From the movement of his beard.”
(Bukhari)

Anas bin Malik (radiyallahu tala ‘anhu) narrates that: Once in the lifetime of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) the people were afflicted with drought (famine). While the Prophet was delivering the Khutba on a Friday, a Bedouin stood up and said, “O, Allah`s Apostle! Our possessions are being destroyed and the children are hungry; Please invoke Allah (for rain)”. So the Prophet raised his hands. At that time there was not a trace of cloud in the sky. By Him in Whose Hands my soul is as soon as he lowered his hands, clouds gathered like mountains, and before he got down from the pulpit, I saw the rain falling on the beard of the Prophet. It rained that day, the next day, the third day, the fourth day till the next Friday. The same Bedouin or another man stood up and said, “O Allah`s Apostle! The houses have collapsed, our possessions and livestock have been drowned; Please invoke Allah (to protect us)”. So the Prophet I raised both his hands and said, “O Allah! Round about us and not on us”. So, in whatever direction he pointed with his hands, the clouds dispersed and cleared away, and Medina`s (sky) became clear as a hole in between the clouds. The valley of Qanat remained flooded, for one month, none came from outside but talked about the abundant rain.

“Whatever it be that you spend, He replaces it and he is the best of providers.”
(Quran)

Abu Masood (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “When a man spends anything on his family and he expects to be rewarded for it is a charity in his favour.”
[(ukhari)

Abu Umaamah (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “He who spends anything on himself in order to abstain thereby, it is a charity. He who spends on his wife, children and members of his household, it is a charity.”
(Tabarani)

Al Miqdam Ibn Madikarba (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “What you feed yourself is a charity in your favour, what you spend on your wife is a charity in your favour, what you spend on your husband is a charity in your favour.”
(Ahmad)

Jabir bin Abdullah (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “The first thing to be placed on the scales of a person on the day of Qiyamah shall be his spending on his family.
(Tabarani)

Abu Hurairah (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “A dinar which you spend in the cause of Allah Ta’ala, a dinar which you spend to free a slave, a dinar which you give to a poor person, a dinar which you spend on your family, the greatest in reward is the one which you spend on your family.”
(Muslim)

Thauban (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “The most superior dinar which a man spends is the dinar which he spends on his family, the dinar which he spends on his animal in the cause of Allah Ta’ala and the dinar which he spends on his on his companions in the cause of Allah Ta’ala.
(Muslim)

Abu Qilabah (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) Said that Rasulullah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) commenced with the family, Abu Qilabah then said which person can receive a greater reward then the man who spends on his little children so Allah Ta’ala may make them self-sufficient, or Allah Ta’ala may benefit them thereby, or he may make them independent.
(Muslim)

Saad Ibn Abi Waqqas (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that Rasulullah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said to him, you will never spend anything seeking therewith the pleasure of Allah Ta’ala without being rewarded for it so much, that even the food that you place in your wife’s mouth.
(Bukhari)

Ka’ab bin Ujrah (radiyallahu ta’ala anhu) narrates that a man passed by the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) and on seeing this person’s strength and his energetic nature the companions of Rasulullah said, Oh Rasulullah, What if this person was in the path of Allah Ta’ala. Rasulullah replied that if he left for work so that he can support his small children then he is in the path of Allah Ta’ala. If he left for work to benefit himself so that he can become self-sufficient then he is in the path of Allah Ta’ala, if he left to support his old parents then he is in the path of Allah Ta’ala, if he left out of show and pride he is in the path of Shaytaan.

I enjoyed the company of Allah's Apostle for three years, and during the other years of my life, never was I so anxious to understand the traditions as I was during those three years.

Zayd ibn Thâbit (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) said: “While I, Abû Hurayra, and a third man were in the mosque one day, supplicating Allâh Most High and remembering our Lord, the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) came out to us and sat with us. When he sat we became silent. He said: ‘Continue what you were doing.’ So I supplicated, then my friend, before Abû Hurayra, while the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said Amin to our supplication. Then Abû Hurayra supplicated saying: ‘O Allâh! I ask you all that my two friends asked of you and I ask you for knowledge that shall not be forgotten.’ The Messenger of Allâh (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said Amin. We said: ‘Messenger of Allâh! We, too, ask for knowledge that shall not be forgotten.’ He said: ‘The boy from Daws asked for it before you!’”
(Tabrani)

Abu Hurairah (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrates that “I said: ‘Messenger of Allâh, truly I hear from you many hadiths which I forget.’ The Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: ‘Spread your cloak.’ I spread my cloak and the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) made a scooping gesture with his hands, then said: ‘Wear it.’ I wore it, and I never forgot a thing thereafter.”
(Bukhari)

Abu Huraira (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrates that: People say that I have narrated many Hadiths (The Prophet’s narrations). Had it not been for two verses in the Qur’an, I would not have narrated a single Hadith, and the verses are:
“Verily those who conceal the clear sign and the guidance which We have sent down . . . (up to) Most Merciful.” (2:159-160). And no doubt our Muhajir (emigrant) brothers used to be busy in the market with their business (bargains) and our Ansari brothers used to be busy with their property (agriculture). But I (Abu Huraira) used to stick to Allah’s Apostle contented with what will fill my stomach and I used to attend that which they used not to attend and I used to memorize that which they used not to memorize.
(Bukhari)

Abu Huraira (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrates: I enjoyed the company of Allah’s Apostle for three years, and during the other years of my life, never was I so anxious to understand the (Prophet’s) traditions as I was during those three years. I heard him saying, beckoning with his hand in this way, “Before the Hour you will fight with people who will have hairy shoes and live in Al-Bariz.” (Sufyan, the sub-narrator once said, “And they are the people of Al-Bazir.”)
(Bukhari)

Abu Huraira (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrates: The people used to say, “Abu Huraira narrates too many narrations.” In fact I used to keep close to Allah’s Apostle and was satisfied with what filled my stomach. I ate no leavened bread and dressed no decorated striped clothes, and never did a man or a woman serve me, and I often used to press my belly against gravel because of hunger, and I used to ask a man to recite a Qur’anic Verse to me although I knew it, so that he would take me to his home and feed me. And the most generous of all the people to the poor was Ja’far bin Abi Talib. He used to take us to his home and offer us what was available therein. He would even offer us an empty folded leather container (of butter) which we would split and lick whatever was in it.
(Bukhari)

..."Two persons came to me at night (in a dream) (and took me along with them). We passed by a tall man who was so tall that I was not able to see his head and that person was Ibrahim (Abraham)"

And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: “I will make thee an Imam to the Nations.” He pleaded: “And also (Imams) from my offspring!” He answered: “But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers.”
(2: 124)

When Abraham said: “Show me, Lord, how You will raise the dead, ” He replied: “Have you no faith?” He said “Yes, but just to reassure my heart.” Allah said, “Take four birds, draw them to you, and cut their bodies to pieces. Scatter them over the mountain-tops, then call them back. They will come swiftly to you. Know that Allah is Mighty, Wise.”
(2: 260)

And Abraham prayed for his father`s forgiveness only because of a promise he had made to him. But when it became clear to him that he was an enemy to Allah, he dissociated himself from him: for Abraham was most tender-hearted, forbearing.
(9: 114)

Abraham was indeed a model, devoutly obedient to Allah, (and) true in Faith, and he joined not gods with Allah:
(16: 120)

Samura (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anha) narrated that Allah Messenger (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said, “Two persons came to me at night (in a dream) (and took me along with them). We passed by a tall man who was so tall that I was not able to see his head and that person was Ibrahim (Abraham)”
(Bukhari)

Anas ibn Malik (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) has reported that a person visited the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) and said: O, the best of creation; there-upon the holy Prophet remarked: That (best of creation) is Ibrahim.
(Muslim)

It is reported on the authority of Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: Abraham only lied on three occasions. Twice in the cause of allah when he said: ‘I am ill,’ and when he said: ‘I did not do it but the big idol has done it.’ And when Abraham and Sarah were on a journey when they entered the land of a tyrant. It was said to the tyrant: ‘This man has a beautiful woman with him.’ So he sent for Abraham and asked him about Sarah, saying: ‘Who is the lasy?’ Abraham said: ‘She is my sister.’ Abraham went to Sarah and said: ‘O Sarah! There are no believers on the face of the earth except you and me. This man has asked me about you and I told him that you are my sister, so do not contradict me. The tyrant summoned Sarah and she went to him, he tried to grab her with his hand but he was thwarted. He asked Sarah: ‘Pray to God for me and I shall not hurt you.’ So Sarah prayed to God for him and he went. He tried to grab her a second time but he was thwarted again. He asked Sarah again: ‘Pray to God for me and I will not hurt you.’ Sarah prayed to God again and he went. Then he summoned one of his guards and said: ‘You did not bring me a human but a devil.’ The tyrant then gave her Hajar to serve her. So she returned to Abraham while he was praying, Abraham indicated with his hand asking: ‘What happened?’ She replied: ‘God has thwarted the evil plot of the tyrant and has given me Hajar to serve me.’

...The Prophet (salallahu 'alahi wasallam) gave orders regarding her, and her clothes were tied on her. He then commanded regarding her and she was stoned to death, and commanded the people and they prayed over her...

It is reported on the authority of Ubada ibn al Samit (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) that when revelation used to descend on the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam), he would feel its rigour and his complexion used to change. Once when a revelation descended upon him he underwent the same ordeal and when it had passed he said: ‘Receive from me, recieve from me. Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) has ordained a way for them. If a married female and an married male commits adultery and an unmarried male commits adultery with an unmarried female, then those who are married shall recieve one hundred lashes and be stoned to death, and those who are unmarried shall recieve one hundred lashes and banishment for a year.
(Muslim)

Abu Hurayra (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) is reported to have said that the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) was asked about the unmarried slave woman who had committed adultery. He said: ‘If she commits adultery then whip her, and if she repeats it, then whip her again and sell her for as little as a length of rope.’ Ibn Shihab said: ‘I do not recall if he said that upon the third or fourth time.’
(Muslim)

Imran bin Husain said: A woman belonging to the tribe of Juhainah came to the Propeht (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) and said that she had commited fornication and that she was pregnant. The apostle of allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) calle dher guardian. Then the Apostle of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said to him: Do good to her, and when she bears a child, bring her. When she delivered the child, he brought her. The Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) gave orders regarding her, and her clothes were tied on her. He then commanded regarding her and she was stoned to death, and commanded the people and they prayed over her. Thereupon ‘Umar (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) said: Are you praying over her?, Apostle of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam), while she has commited fornication? He said: By Whom in Whose hand is my soul, she has repented to such an extent that if it were divided among the seventy people of Medina, it would have been enough for them all. And what do you find a thing better than the fact that she gave her life?

Ibn Abbas (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) observed Saum (fasting) on the day of Ashura and commanded us to fast on this day.
(Bukhari, Muslim)

Abu Qatadah (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) reported: The Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) was asked about observing As-Saum (the fast) on the tenth day of Muharram, and he replied, “It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year.”

They said: “O Zul-qarnain! the Gog and Magog (People) do great mischief on earth: shall we then pay you a tribute in order that you might erect a barrier between us and them?
(Quran, 18: 94)

Until the Gog and Magog (people) are let through (their barrier), and they swiftly swarm from every hill.
(Quran, 21: 96)

Umm Al-Mu’mineen Zaynab bint Jahsh (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anha) narrated that: The Messenger of Allah (sallalahu ‘alahi wasallam) entered upon her in a panic, saying: “There is no god but Allah, woe to the Arabs from an evil that has approached. Today a (hole) like this has been opened in the barrier of Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj,” and he made a circle with his thumb and forefinger. She said, “I said, “O Messenge of Allah, will we be destroyed even though there are righteous people among us?” He said: “Yes, if evil prevails.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrated that: the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “Allah will say: ‘O Adam!’ and he will say, ‘Here I am at your service, and all goodness is in your hand.’ He will say: ‘Bring forth those who are to be sent to Hell.’ He will say, ‘Who are those who are to be sent to Hell?’ He will say: ‘From every thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine.’ At that point the young will turn grey, every pregnant female will abort, and the people will appear intoxicated although they are not. But the punishment of Allah is severe.” they said, “O Messenger of Allah, which of us will be that one?” He said, “Be of good cheer, for there will be one man from among you and one thousand from among Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj.” Then he said, “By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I hope that you will be one quarter of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allahu Akbar!” Then he said, “I hope that you will be one third of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allahu Akbar!” Then he said, “I hope that you will be one half of the people of Paradise,” and they said, “Allahu Akbar!” Then he said, “Among the people you are like a black hair on the hide of a white bull, or like a white hair on the hide of a black bull.”
(Bukhari, Muslim)

Al-Nawaas ibn Sam’aan (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “And Allah will send Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj, who will swarm down from every slope. The first of them will pass by the Lake of Tiberias (Sea of Galilee) and will drink what is in it, and the last of them will pass it and say: ‘There was once water here.’”
(Muslim)

Abu Hurayrah (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) narrated that the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said, when speaking of Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj: “They will emerge against the people and drink the water, and the people will flee from them. They will shoot their arrows into the sky, and they will come back stained with blood, and they will say: ‘We have defeated the people of the Earth and we have defeated those who are in the heaven and overpowered and prevailed over them!’ Then Allah will send against them a worm in their necks, and they will die. By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, the beasts of the earth will grow fat on their flesh.”
(Tirmidhi, Ibn Maajah)

Salamah ibn Nufayl (radiyallahu ta’ala ‘anhu) said: “Whilst we were sitting with the Prophet (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam), a man came to him and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah, the horses have been neglected and weapons have been laid down. Some people are saying that there is no fighting and that war has ceased,’ He (salallahu ‘alahi wasallam) said: “They are lying. Now is the time for fighthing. Some of my Ummah will continue to fight for the sake of Allah , not being harmed by those who oppose them. Allah will cause some people to deviate so that they [those who are fighting for the sake of Allah] can get provision from them, and they will continue fighting until the Hour begins. War will never cease until Ya’jooj and Ma’jooj emerge.’”
